**********Why Targasonne ?/Pourquoi aller sur Targasonne ?**********

Beautiful mountain setting. Large quantity of bouldering problems. The quality of the climbing is superb. Not too crowded with people. In general, also has nicer weather than more northern regions of France such as Paris.

Targasonne est situé dans les jolies montagnes « Pyrénées ». La qualité des lignes est superbe ! Il y n’a pas trop de monde et en général, il fait plus beau qu’à Paris !

-La Griole camping
Camp only a few feet away from the « camping sector » boulders. The couple who runs the camping is very nice and professional. Camping is extremely affordable, and includes use of on-site facilities (e.g. toilettes, hot showers). Note that the bar/restaurant adjacent to the camping is closed (at least as of summer 2007) until further notice.

Campez juste à côté des blocs du secteur « camping ». Le couple qui s’occupe du camping est très sympa et professionnel. Le camping est vraiment peu cher et les commodités (toilettes, douche chaude) sont neuves et propres. A noter, le bar/restaurant du camping est fermé (été 2007).

-Le Cellier (Restaurant)
Pretty good pizza, and open fairly late (10pm) —in Font Romeu.
La pizza est pas mal et le restaurant est ouvert jusqu’à 22h00 – à Font Romeu.

There are several camping sites, ‘gîtes’, and hotels near Targasonne.

Il y a quelques campings à côté de Targasonne. Il y a aussi des hôtels et des gîtes à proximité.

For groceries, there is a really large ‘Super U’ in the nearby village of Égat. If you are looking to take a coffee, be aware that the nearby village of Font Romeu is a bit of a tourist trap, and can be more expensive than the neighboring villages.

Pour faire les courses, il y a un ‘Super U’ près du village d’Égat. Pour prendre un petit café c’est plus cher à Font Romeu (qui est très touristique) comparé aux autres petits villages à côté.
